Simple & Quick Tip: How To Shine Silver

If you have been following my blog or watching my videos you know how much I love silver.  The only thing that I do not like about silver is the TARNISH!  Silver will tarnish over time and having to shine silver is no fun!

I have a really simple and easy method that I use to maintain my silver and keep that nasty tarnish away.

Today I completed a video tutorial showing you exactly how I shine my silver using aluminum foil, baking soda and table salt.  The video is below.  I hope you will enjoy!

I want to try your silver polishing trick, but have a question about the salt. Does it matter if the salt is “kosher salt” (that doesn’t have iodine) or do I need regular salt that does have the iodine in it?
    Thanks.

Hi, Nikki, my name is Kari and I love watching your cleaning and organizing videos. I just watched one for your purse organization and I was wondering where you purchase your small Bibles to fit in your purse at. Please email me and let me know or post on a new video. Thanks for all the great tips! Have a great day, Kari 🙂

    Hi Nikki
Great videos!!!! I was wondering can you still clean silver this way if you have a silgranit sink?

I just did my silver, I’ve been procratinating, it was black with tarnish. After the soak I used silver polish. OMG amazing! Thank you Nikki, wish I could post the picture.

Will this method of cleaning hurt the silver over time? Do you rinse the silver afterwards?
    Thanks
