Updating Faux Wood Panel Walls

We all know how popular faux wood paneling was in the 70’s.  Was there a house built in the 70’s without it?  I think not.  A lot of homes today still have this paneling, which I must say is quite durable, but sure makes a home feel dated.  Well one of my viewers wrote to me asking for my advice on what to do to update her space which has that dated faux wood paneling.  Below is my video giving my suggestions for her space.  I hope you will enjoy!  -Nikki

Nikki…..I love the suggestions you made. I think the mirrors will bring more light into the room. And the updated patterns in lighter tones of earth and red will also make the room feel sleek/ modern.

I painted every inch of our paneling years ago! The paint store experts at that time said it couldn’t be done, but that just made me want to try it even more! I just recently repainted my kitchen paneling all white and it is so light and beautiful. My husband loved the paneling as it was, but he has never said anything bad about painting over it. After 41 years, he knows a happy wife is a happy life! Good luck!
