Tips On Having A Small Business At Home
I have been running my small online business NikrisDesigns LLC. from home for the past couple of years. I really enjoy the fact that I can have a business from my home and make money from things that I enjoy creating. There are some tips that I would like to share with others who are currently thinking about starting a business from home. Initially, I was thinking that this transtion from the office to working from home was going to be difficult, but like everything else, you get used to it. Thank goodness for technology, as I managed to find a number of programs and software that I was able to use in order to help grow my business. With their being so many programs out there that claim to do certain things for businesses, I was advised to look into a site like TrustRadius.com, where I was able to read reviews from other people and make up my mind from there. Technology has helped a lot of businesses grow and we all might as well use it to your advantage. I recently posted a video sharing these tips (which is below). QuickBooks has been key to keeping my home business on track and organized. As far as accountancy software goes, I think it is by far the best out there. I know a lot of people like FreshBooks as an alternative and you can learn more about that (and QuickBooks) here – freshbooks vs quickbooks. Personally, QuickBooks has never let me down. I have the 2013 version but they do now have the 2014 version out for both MAC and PC.
OFFICE SPACE: Making Space At Home For Your Business
I transformed a closet in my home into my corporate offices :). You truly do not need a lot of space to run your business from home. With creative organization and dedication you can accommodate your business needs at home. I recommend finding a location in your home that can be closed off during non-working hours. Before you do something like this, you will need to have made sure you have planned everything through properly. For example, you have to make sure you get the right type of insurance to to cover your business or make sure you have got the correct equipment to get started. It takes a lot of planning to start your own home business so make sure that everything is ready before you dive into anything. Ask yourself if you’re ready to do this. Have you got all the equipment you need to start? Have you got a clear budget? Have you looked at different business energy suppliers to see if you have the cheapest price?
